Colleen Lasky, LPC

Counselor, Spiritual Director

Colleen is committed to bringing wholeness and healing to people with two separate services:

Counseling Services are available for people who are suffering from a variety of life's challenges, such as grief, anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties and relationship difficulties. The treatments that are utilized are uniquely designed according to individual needs; however, compassion and unconditional caring, and a deep commitment to fostering wellness are a part of every session. If faith is an important issue, a spiritual counseling approach is available.

Spiritual Direction Services are available for people who desire private, structured Ignatian retreats or private, unstructured sessions. Colleen is also a retreat director for groups that would like to participate in Wellness Retreats at River’s Edge. The wellness retreats offer inspiring talks, yoga, mindful walks and private prayer. Trained in the Ignatian tradition, Colleen teaches her retreatants contemplative prayer, to find the will of God in their personal journey, to identify disordered attachments, to better understand the discernment of spirits, and to begin to understand that they are loved by God exactly as they are, without conditions.

Colleen Marie Lasky received her bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Detroit Mercy where she graduated with honors. She received her master’s degree in community counseling from John Carroll University (2008) and her certificate in spiritual direction from the Ignatian Spirituality Institute. She is an experienced counselor, spiritual director, supervisor for spiritual directors that are in their practicum year. She is also a published writer and an associate of the Congregation of St. Joseph.
