Norm Comtois, O.M.I., MA and Denise Turcotte, CSC, Directors

The recent scientific investigations of the universe, earth life, and the human person have given us a new world view, a larger framework to interpret our spiritual and religious experience within the evolution of life. Science is revealing a universe that supports the mystical awareness that all is One. “That All May Be One” will be the guiding inspiration for this retreat.  Within the context of the Universe Story, we will explore the cosmic reality of oneness as expressed and lived through the wisdom of Christianity.  Each day will include teachings, integrating questions, dialogue, ritual and quiet time for reflection.  The week-long retreat is designed to create a truly evolutionary Christian experience.

Norman Comtois, O.M.I., MA/Pastoral Counseling, as an ordained priest for over forty years, currently is a retreat director and teacher focusing on what Thomas Berry calls "The Universe Story".  Norman's work brings Spirituality and the New Cosmology to life in a spiritually relevant and meaningful way.  He also has facilitated Intentional Eucharistic Communities and has given years of retreats throughout the United States and Canada. In 2000, Norman completed the New Cosmology and Earth Literacy program at Genesis Farm, Blairstown, N.J.   He serves as a team member of and consultant to the Earth Literacy Program at La Vista Ecological Learning Center in Godfrey, Illinois. From 2000 to 2012 he introduced courses in the New Cosmology at Berakah, a renewal center for women religious. Norman encourages those attending his presentations and retreats to ponder the wisdom of their religious traditions in the context of the interrelatedness of creation.  And he invites them to enter the awe and wonder of the Universe Story, and then celebrate it in all its beauty.

Denise Turcotte, CSC, is coordinator of the Justice and Environment Mission Group of the Sisters of Holy Cross and on staff at Berakah Retreat/Spirituality Center in Pittsfield, NH. She co-facilitates The Mystical Perspective of Earth and Cosmic Consciousness and other day programs such as Global Climate Change. Denise attended the New Cosmology and Earth Literacy Program at Genesis Farm. A naturalist and environmental educator, Denise received her Masters at Antioch University. She taught Ecology and other Earth-related courses at Notre Dame College, Manchester, NH for 25 years, worked for New Hampshire Audubon, and was director of New Dawn Earth Center in Cumberland, RI for six years. Denise is most at home amidst nature and empowering others to become more aware of the interconnectedness of all life.
