Promoting and Developing Excellence in Children

What can we do to enable our kids to succeed and be their best?  Most children want to achieve excellence in something, but don’t understand how to get there. Many parents also do not recognize the power of their words and actions to either encourage or hinder their children’s ability to mature into independent, successful, adults.

Regardless of what our kids seek to be excellent at—sports, academics, the arts, or some other skill-based endeavor—the requirements for achieving their best are identical: a systematic process of hard work, habitual effort, steadfast discipline, and the daily pursuit of continuous improvement. Ultimately, if kids are going to achieve they have to do it themselves; adults cannot do it for them.

What key ingredients will allow your kids to succeed?  What does research indicate parents can do to cultivate hard-working, resilient children capable of persisting and coping with the demands of the 21st Century world?

This workshop will answer these questions by exploring the essential elements of the Habit of Excellence, teaching parents how to facilitate the development of critical life skills that will allow their children to maximize their potential.
