Fr. Lou Papas, Facilitator

See, I am doing something new! Now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? In the wilderness I make a way; in the wasteland, rivers.  --Isaiah 43:19

What at times may seem as a daunting if not frightening prospect, life transitions can become one of the most exciting and creative experiences life can offer.

In an interactive environment, the two unique gifts of being human, MEMORY and IMAGINATION, will invite us to “think outside the box.”   We will be guided to reflect and
discuss how the key elements of prayer, work, relationships, and leisure have influenced our lives, and how they will continue to shape our call to be fully human.

Lou Papes, a retired but very active priest, was ordained for the Diocese of Cleveland in 1988 after twenty-four years as an educator.  In 1999 he incardinated in the Diocese of Georgetown Guyana, and for the next twelve and a half years traveled to 123 dioceses in 43 states preaching on behalf of the poor in Central America and the Caribbean.  Since retiring in 2012, he has gone back to part time teaching at local colleges, acting in community theatres, and developing the preaching initiative known as Women and the Word.  He continues to see life as an ongoing adventure that teases the imagination.
