Wellness Instructor Biographies
Judi Bar, RYT
Judi is a Certified Yoga Instructor (T.R.Y. 4 Life Yoga Certification Institute), Reiki Intuitive Healer, and Yoga Therapy Practitioner specializing in chronic pain and illness with emphasis on musculoskeletal challenges. She works with an orthopedic surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic and is a former ballet dancer, owner, and choreographer of a professional dance company.
Kay Bees, MA, RYT
Kay received her yoga certification from Bhumi¹s Yoga & Wellness Center under Bhumi and from T.R.Y. (therapy, Reiki, yoga) for Life under Jan Hauenstein.
Paula Campbell, CSJ Associate, LISW
Paula has over 14 years experience providing counseling and therapy for children, families, couples and individuals. Paula has worked at Catholic Social Services and Lighthouse Family Services specializing in working with children ages five through 12 and their families, as well as couples. In addition, she has maintained a part-time private practice for many years.
She has an undergraduate degree in elementary education and taught primary grades for a number of years before completing her MSW at Boston College.
She also has a Masters degree in Pastoral Studies from Loyola University in Chicago.
Judy Cannato, CSJ Associate, M.Ed, MA
Judy is a retreat and spiritual director at River’s Edge. She is the author of Quantum Grace: Lenten Reflections on Creation and Connectedness (2 vols) and Radical Amazement: Contemplative Lessons from Black Holes, Supernovas, and Other Wonders of the Universe. She is a Certified Mid-Life Directions Consultants. She is married with two grown sons and one granddaughter.
Danielle Catalano, LMT
Danielle received her license from the state medical board after graduating from the Ohio College of Massotherapy in 1991. She has taken post graduate courses in Shiatsu, Reiki, Russian and prenatal massage and is currently studying hot stone application and chair massage. She is a member of ABMP (Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals) and sits on the Advisory Board for massage at Sanford Brown Institute.
Judy Cole, CSJ, MA, CSp
A Sister of St. Joseph, Sr. Judy has over thirty years of retreat and spiritual direction experience. She is a frequent director at various retreat houses and religious communities. Sr. Judy is a Certified Mid-Life Directions Consultant.
Mary-Martha Corrigan, UKM, RQIP, RYT, HTSM
For over 28 years, Mary-Martha has explored and become certified in many revitalizing healing practices. She received a BA in Psychology and Sociology from Kent State University. Mary-Martha is a Reiki Therapist, Qigong Instructor, Yoga Instructor, Healing Touch Spiritual Minister, Aromatherapist, Bach Flower Advisor, Feng Shui Practitioner, Herbalist and provides other wellness techniques such as breathing, stress reduction, relaxation, guided imagery and meditation.
Carol Creek, MA, CSp
Mid-Life Directions Consultant Carol has a graduate certificate in spiritual direction and directed retreats and an MA in Christian Spirituality from Creighton University. She is a Mid-Life Directions Consultant. Carol has created a variety of Christian motivational programs including ³Changing Seasons Changing Hearts² retreats for women.
Marty Blachly-Cross, MS, RYT
A registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance, Marty is certified by Integrative Yoga Therapy as a Yoga Teacher. She is also a certified practitioner of Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, and through Integral Yoga, is certified to teach Cardiac Yoga (R). Marty has completed the fundamentals of Kripalu methodology and is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
Jacqueline Goodin, CSJ, LISW
Jacqueline is a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work and has worked in several child mental health and school settings. Jacqueline has also counseled individual adults for several years. With this rich experience, she provides in-depth knowledge of child, teen, couples and family issues. She also has an interest in helping adults resolve feelings regarding abuse, death and loss. She has enhanced her clinical skills through course work at the Cleveland Psychoanalytic Center, the Center for Mind/Body Medicine in Washington, DC, the Philadelphia Child Guidance Center and Community Mediation Services of Central Ohio.
Jan Hauenstein, MA. RYT
Jan is the School Director of T.R.Y. (Therapy, Reiki, Yoga) Certification Institute, RYS and Instructor. Jan is a certified and registered Master Yoga teacher/therapist (Himalayan Institute, Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, Integrative Yoga Therapy), and has been teaching in the healing arts for 30 years. She has produced many home study videos, CDs and audiotapes on Reiki, Yoga, Mindful Breathing and Meditation.
Antoinette Horn, MBA, LNHA
Antoinette is a certified Qigong and Tai Chi instructor from the Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi in Santa Barbara, California. She is passionate about learning and teaching ways to care for the body, mind and spirit to improve whole person wellness.

Kim is a well-known motivational speaker and workshop presenter. She is President of Life Balance Enterprise, Inc.
Elizabeth Lavelle, CSJ, LPCC
Elizabeth has a special interest in working with persons with a history of abuse and persons whose lives have been touched by AIDs-related issues. She has demonstrated her experience as a clinical counselor for teens, adults and families and as a clinical supervisor at mental health agencies in the Cleveland area. She has received additional training at the Gestalt Institute at Cleveland.
Janet Lehane, MSN
Janet is a certified Spiritual Director, trained at JCU’s Ignatian Spirituality Institute. She enjoys the Spiritual Exercises with others, seeing God communicating personally in each person’s life. She is married with two daughters, a registered nurse at Hospice of Western Reserve and a Spiritual Director.
Marla Loehr, CSJ Associate, Ph.D., CPM
Marla holds a Masters in Spirituality and is a certified spiritual director and private retreat director. Marla is an attentive listener to the hopes and desires of the human heart as expressed by the men and women with whom she journeys in an atmosphere of prayer.
Paddy O¹Flynn, LMT
Paddy has been working as a Cranio-Sacral therapist for seven years and has received multiple levels of training including Cranio-Sacral Therapy I &II, Somato Emotional Release I & II, Cranio-Sacral Therapy for Pediatrics, The Immune Response, The Brain Speaks, and Advanced Cranio-Sacral Therapy.
Barbara Pajka, M.Ed
Barbara has been teaching Tai Chi in the Cleveland area since 1989. She is a stress management coach, trainer, facilitator and President of Well-Star Center, offering skills and products for personal and professional well-being.
Cheryl Rose, HM
Cheryl is a trained and certified Enneagram instructor. A former high school science and theology teacher, Cheryl is now involved in full-time retreat and spiritual direction ministry with adults.
Maria 'Puma' Reyes
Maria inspires students to go deeper and to achieve balance and authenticity both on and off the mat. Forrest Yoga combines heat, flow, deep breathing and longer holds in pose sequences. Puma completed her teacher training with Ana Forrest in Los Angeles in December, 2004.
Ani Palmo Rybicki
Palmo, a native Clevelander, has been practicing Buddhism for eighteen years, and has been an ordained nun in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition for the past twelve years. She has had extensive training in meditation and Buddhist philosophy. Palmo has been teaching in the Cleveland area intermittently for three years.
JoAnne Scullin, LICDC, CHTP
JoAnne is a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner through Healing Touch International. She developed a belief in a mind/body/spirit approach to wholeness in her many years exploring the mystery of life. In the past, JoAnne was employed as a chemical dependency professional.
Carrie Vall, CSJ, MA-ATR
Carrie has a Master of Arts in Art Therapy Counseling from Ursuline College and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Kent State University. She has taught art in a variety of settings: shelters, schools, adult day care centers, sheltered workshops, youth centers, and training schools. Carrie is one of the founding partners of the Women¹s Outreach Center where she practices art therapy with women in transition.
Carol Williams, MA, RYT
Carol is a certified Yoga Instructor in Kripalu Yoga and Integrative Yoga Therapy and certified practitioner in Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy. Carol has a Masters Degree in Psychology with an emphasis on Yoga.
Elizabeth Woconish (nee Vajentic), MA, CSp
Liz is a retreat and spiritual director at River’s Edge. She holds a Masters degree in spirituality and certificate in retreat/spiritual direction from Creighton University. Liz is married to Andy and mother of Avalon Marie.
Beth Wolfe, RYT
Beth has been practicing Hatha Yoga in the Kripalu tradition for over ten years. She received her teaching training and certification with Jan Hauenstein and Carol Williams. She received certification in prenatal yoga from the Kripalu Institute. She is registered with the Yoga Alliance at the Himalayan Institute.
