As news of global warming and global warring dominates the headlines, Michael Dowd believe that nothing matters more at this crucial crossroads in human history than accepting evolution as a fact of life. Reality is teaching us that it's not just what we believe that matters, it's how we choose to evolve. A sacred evolutionary worldview offers a way for people to make peace with themselves, each other, and the planet, and no gift could be greater than that right now.

As a Christian minister, Dowd especially addresses the concerns that Christians have about evolution, but his insights will appeal to all people of faith and of no faith. Fun and uplifting, he goes beyond the current debate to offer up a whole new way of thinking about science and religion.

Biography

The Reverend Michael Dowd is one of the most inspiring speakers in America today. For the past five years he and his wife, Connie Barlow, an acclaimed science writer, have lived permanently on the road sharing a sacred view of evolution with religious and secular audiences of all ages, as America’s evolutionary evangelists. At home in both conservative and liberal settings, and uniquely gifted at building bridges between religious and nonreligious people, Michael is passionate about sharing the 14-billion-year epic of evolution in ways that uplift and expand heart, mind, and soul.

The deepest definition of Christ Consciousness is that it is dynamic divine love in all transforming and radical action. The path to becoming an instrument of this nuclear love force lies through a great death, the death of the false self, the stage that is known is Christian mysticism as the dark night of the soul, and in as in Sufism is known as Fana. This great death leads to a great birth, a birth into what Andrew Harvey calls Sacred Activism. The fusion of divine knowledge, peace and love acquired through mystical practice, with focused wise radical action. Teaching will alternate with Sacred Practice and sharing.

Overnight accommodations $35/night, call for availability
